Watch The Final Race Simulation Workout That Prepared Charlie Lawrence for Boston
Episode 3 : Out Now
With the Boston Marathon just 3 days away, Charlie Lawrence breaks down his final Boston race simulation workout — and the Stryd data tells the whole story.
This marathon-specific long run was engineered to mirror exactly what Boston demands. Starting atop Neva Road in Boulder, bombing the downhills early, then grinding through rolling hills late, just like Boston's punishing first-half descent into the Newton hills grind.
What the Stryd data showed: Leg Spring Stiffness (LSS) held from 9.8 kN/m on the first rep down to just 9.2 on the final rep, well above the 8.8 recorded at his New York Half the week before. Power stayed consistent on the downhills, balance metrics stayed stable, and durability held across the whole session.
The fitness is there. The legs are ready.
Follow along and track Charlie live on Monday at the 130th Boston Marathon.
