Build Your Endurance Week by Week with This Progressive Long Run Series!

We’re excited to introduce four new long run workouts for the month of March, each designed to build upon the last and help you develop the endurance you need for your upcoming marathon.

This series begins with an 80 minute long run and progresses each week until you reach the two-hour mark. No matter where you are in your training, you can start at the level that best matches your current fitness and progress at your own pace. To keep things engaging, we have added structure to every long run to help make the miles fly by and keep you motivated.

Progress Week by Week with This Endurance-Boosting Long Run Series!

These long run workouts progress each week. The goal of this series is to choose a long run that matches your current fitness level and build at your own pace.

  • Marathon Build – Strong Start: You will start this 80 minute long run with a 20 minute warm up followed by 25 minutes at a moderate, 5 minutes easy, and 20 minutes at a moderate effort. You will end with a 10 minute cool down.
  • Marathon Build – Going Longer: You will start this 90 minute long run with a 20 minute warm up followed by 30 minutes at a moderate effort, 5 minutes easy, and 25 minutes at a moderate effort. You will end with a 10 minute cool down.
  • Marathon Build – Strength & Stamina: You will start this 105 minute long run with a 20 minute warm up followed by 45 minutes at a moderate effort, 5 minutes easy, and 15 minutes at your marathon power. You will end with a 20 minute cool down.
  • Marathon Build – Peak Endurance: You will start this 120 minute long run with a 20 minute warm up followed by 60 minutes at a moderate effort, 5 minutes easy, and 20 minutes at your marathon power. You will end with a 15 minute cool down.
