Stryd unveils Stryd Speed | A revolutionary new way to capture short distances and train for speed

Dear Stryd Community,

For more than a decade, Stryd has served the distance and endurance running communities with accurate, consistent, and actionable data. Now, we’re extending that same measurement expertise to the fastest efforts in sport.

In addition to keeping our commitment to you and the distance running community, we are introducing a new experience to serve more runners: Stryd Speed, built for sprinters and team sport athletes.

Stryd Speed adds new capabilities to Stryd Duo 5.0 and a new experience built for sprinters and team sport athletes: capturing every step, every rep, for every day, athletes gain the personalized insights to unlock their speed.

Who is Stryd Speed for?

Stryd Speed is already in use across many levels of athletes and coaches. It has been designed to work for every level of sport: from youth athletes in middle school and high school to professional athletes and Olympians, across track & field, football, soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and more.

Stryd Speed works just as well for a full squad as it does for a single athlete. A single coach can easily manage an entire roster. It's equally great in running conditioning drills with a youth team, in testing on a college track, or for use in return-to-play with a professional teams organization. Stryd Speed is built from the ground up for athletes, coaches, strength & conditioning specialists, and more.

Stryd Speed brings the same industry-leading sports technology you already know, now applied to the fastest movements in sport.

Stryd Speed has been validated against gold-standard laboratory measurements, bringing accuracy, consistency, and reliability on track, turf, and grass — indoors or out.

1. Clip it on. The pods attach to any shoe and start recording as soon as the athlete moves. Status lights confirm the pods are ready before the first rep.

2. Train and race. Every rep and every step is captured and organized automatically. Bring a tablet or phone for live monitoring of any size group of athletes, to view live reps in action and full workout histories on demand.

3. Sync and review. Data flows off the pods through the mobile app when the session wraps, and reps arrive in the portal detected, segmented, and analyzed — exposing trends and insights before your athlete has finished cooling down.

FAQ

Q: What does this mean for me as an existing Stryd user?

A: Nothing changes. Going forward, your Stryd experience will continue to receive the same great innovations you have come to expect. We will be delivering more frequent updates to you through the newly released Stryd Labs, giving you an early preview of what’s coming next. Stryd Speed is a separate experience, built to extend Stryd’s support to the needs of short-distance, high-intensity athletes.

Q: I'm an endurance runner. Should I be using this instead?

A: No — endurance runners are best served by the existing Stryd & Stryd Membership, which delivers all the core endurance running services you need for everyday training and racing. Stryd Speed is purpose-built for sprint and team sport movement.

Q: How do I get access if I already have Stryd? Can I use my existing Stryd pods?

A: Stryd Speed is powered by Stryd 5.0 hardware, and existing Stryd Duo 5.0 owners will have the opportunity to use their hardware to access Stryd Speed. Stryd Speed requires its own paid subscription, separate from your Stryd Membership. Details on how to access it will be shared with the early-access list as they become available.

Q: What will it cost?

A: Hardware and subscription pricing will be announced at launch. The early-access list hears first.

Q: I know a coach or athlete who needs this. How do I pass it along?

A: Forward this email, or send them straight to Stryd Speed to sign up for the early access list.

Thank you for your continued support of Stryd throughout the years.

We recently announced Stryd Labs, where you can preview new Stryd features before they launch, including a new Form Profile feature to understand your biomechanics and an improved Critical Power history feature to see how your performance evolves over time.

We’re excited to keep delivering for you, and we look forward to welcoming a new wave of athletes to the Stryd community.
