Today, we’re introducing three major updates to Stryd Adaptive Training that make it more precise, more responsive, and more aligned with your goals than ever before.

This release brings:

  • Smarter Race Day Support
  • Pause & Resume Plan Adjustments
  • Improved Critical Power (CP) Accuracy 

Together, these updates make Stryd Adaptive Training more adaptive than ever, connecting your race goals, real-life schedule, and fitness precision into one seamless training experience.


New Race Day Support: Train With Purpose

Races are what motivate us to train. They give structure to our effort and meaning to the miles.

Adaptive Training now supports race dates directly in your calendar. When you add a race in the Stryd app, the system automatically builds a race-specific training cycle around that event — including a dedicated taper — so you arrive fit, fresh, and ready to perform.

You can also prioritize races as A, B, or C events:

  • Event A becomes your primary goal, with a full build and taper designed to peak on race day.
  • Event B acts as a checkpoint along the way, integrated without disrupting your main cycle.
  • Event C is treated as a fun run that won’t affect your plan.

This means you can race throughout your season without derailing the work that matters most.


New Pause & Resume for Training Plans: Smarter Comebacks

Life happens. You miss a few runs. You take time off. You come back unsure of what to do next.

Adaptive Training now automatically adjusts your plan when you take a break. Instead of guessing whether to restart, skip ahead, or scale back, the system evaluates your time away and provides a research-backed recommendation on how to move forward.

This protects your progress, reduces injury risk, and removes the uncertainty that often follows time off.

Breaks happen. The right return plan helps you get back on track. With Adaptive Training, every comeback is calculated, personalized, and built on sound training principles.


New CP Accuracy: More Precise Training

Critical Power is the foundation of your power-based training. It determines your zones, sets your workout targets, and shapes your race predictions.

With this update, Adaptive Training improves how it evaluates and maintains CP accuracy by carefully comparing your reported Rate of Perceived Effort (RPE) with your power profile and fatigue patterns. When discrepancies appear, the system can flag and recalibrate your CP to keep your training aligned with your true fitness.
