Firmware Update for Stryd 5.0 & Stryd Duo 5.0 | Firmware 3.1.8

Firmware Update for Stryd 5.0 & Stryd Duo 5.0 | Firmware 3.1.8

Today, we have the first firmware update for Stryd 5.0 and Stryd Duo 5.0, bringing improvements to pacing accuracy and responsiveness. We encourage all users to update to this new firmware for an improved Stryd experience moving forward.

What’s changed:

  • Improved pacing accuracy for more stable pace, power, and distance readings.
  • Faster responsiveness to changes in effort and terrain (up to 2x faster).
  • More consistent performance across grades, surfaces, weather, and variable terrain.
  • Improved hill and incline handling with quicker adjustments when slope changes.
  • Increased reliability on steep grades and during power hiking for more continuous tracking.
  • Reduced over-smoothing on trails and rolling terrain to better reflect real effort changes.

What is the advantage of this update?

This update makes Stryd feel more real-time and more trustworthy in the moments that matter most. You’ll hit targets sooner, settle into them faster, and stay on track more consistently across every run.

On the track, that means cleaner reps and clearer gear changes without chasing a lagging number. On hills and roads, it means getting to your target effort faster and holding it without overshooting. On trails, in the mountains, and on rolling routes, it means a steady pacing anchor when GPS and heart rate can’t keep up. The result is cleaner execution with less guesswork mid-run.
