New Stryd Apple Watch Update | Stryd Metrics are Now Available in HealthKit

We’re excited to bring another powerful update to the Stryd app for Apple Watch.

With this release, Stryd’s advanced metrics—including Running Power, Vertical Oscillation, Ground Time, Stride Length, Pace, and Elevation—are now integrated with Apple HealthKit. This means your favorite running data can now be stored alongside all your other health and fitness information, making it easier than ever to view, track, and analyze in one place.

Let’s take a look at what this new update brings, how it works, and what it means for you as a runner.

What’s New: Stryd’s Metrics Available in HealthKit

With this update, Stryd metrics are no longer limited to the Stryd app. They now connect directly with Apple HealthKit, allowing you to bring your running data into the larger Apple Health ecosystem. This integration opens the door to deeper insights and more flexible use across your favorite apps.

Key Benefits of Improved HealthKit Integration

  1. Centralized Data in the Apple Health App: HealthKit brings your Stryd metrics into one secure, user-controlled space on your iPhone or Apple Watch. You can easily see how Running Power relates to heart rate, steps, or sleep quality without switching between apps.
  2. Seamless Sharing with Third-Party App: HealthKit allows authorized apps to automatically read your Stryd metrics, so your data is available wherever you need it without manual exports or extra setup.
  3. Enhanced Insights: HealthKit combines Stryd’s performance metrics with health signals like sleep, recovery, or daily activity. This gives you a clearer picture of how your body responds to running, helping you spot patterns, track progress, and make smarter adjustments.
  4. Improved Data Portability and Backup: HealthKit stores your Stryd metrics in iCloud (with end-to-end encryption), making it easy to export data for coaches, doctors, or even custom apps. This ensures your running history isn't locked in Stryd's platform alone.

How It Works

The Stryd app for Apple Watch automatically makes the metrics available in HealthKit after each activity. All you have to do is record your data as normal.

Once your run is saved, HealthKit securely stores the metrics alongside your other health information. From there, you can view them in the Apple Health app or allow other authorized apps to use the data for additional insights.
