The Pursuit | Watch Clayton Young’s Key Marathon Workout Ahead of the World Championships

Watch Episode 2 of Clayton Young's World Champs Build
In Episode 2 of The Pursuit | Tokyo World Champs Marathon Build, Clayton Young takes on his biggest workout of the build: a 12-mile tempo run just faster than marathon pace. With the support of his teammates, he turned this demanding session into a key stepping stone toward his World Championships debut in Tokyo this September.
To maximize the impact of these critical workouts, Clayton relies on Stryd for insights that go far beyond the stopwatch. The data not only confirmed his ability to hold consistent power mile after mile, but also revealed how his body responded to fatigue.
“After my marathon simulation workout, it was satisfying to dive into the [Stryd] data to see how my power per mile stayed consistent throughout the session. It was also insightful to see how my footpath and fatigue metrics changed throughout the session. My leg spring stiffness slowly decreased (though not drastically) throughout the session showing a buildup of fatigue. A metric that is critical for late in the marathon.”
