Global Running Day Is Here: Turn Up the Heat With New Threshold Workouts

We are excited to celebrate Global Running Day by launching four new threshold workouts for the month of June to help you make the most of your summer training.
Threshold workouts train your body to clear lactate more efficiently and sustain higher intensities for longer. This month’s sessions build that ability with a mix of short 400 meter repeats with minimal rest and longer sustained threshold runs. Each workout is designed to push your limits, sharpen your fitness, and elevate your performance.
Let’s dive into the new workouts released this month.

New Threshold Workouts to Level Up Your Fitness
These new threshold sessions are designed to help you build strength, boost efficiency, and elevate your performance throughout the summer season.
- Rapid Repeats: You will start with a 15 minute warmup followed by three 20 second strides with 60 seconds recovery in between. Then you will recover one more minute before running 12 by 400 meter repeats at your 5K power with 45 seconds rest in between. You will finish with a 15 minute cooldown.
- The Long Haul: You will start with a 15 minute warmup followed by three 20 second strides with 60 seconds recovery in between. Then you will recover one more minute before running two sets of 20 minutes above your half marathon power with 3 minutes rest in between. You will finish with a 10 minute cooldown.
- Threshold Miles: You will start with a 15 minute warmup followed by three 20 second strides with 60 seconds recovery in between. Then you will recover one more minute before running four by 1 mile repeats at your 10K power with 2 minutes rest in between. You will finish with a 15 minute cooldown.
- Eight Minute Grind: You will start with a 15 minute warmup followed by three 20 second strides with 60 seconds recovery in between. Then you will recover one more minute before running three sets of 8 minutes at your 10K power with 2 minutes and 30 seconds rest in between. You will finish with a 15 minute cooldown.
