Watch Race Week | Boston Marathon Build: Episode 7
Clayton Young’s latest episode offers an inside look at what it takes to prepare for one of the world’s most prestigious races.
During Boston Marathon race week, Clayton kicked things off with a final tune-up workout, followed by a packed schedule filled with press conferences, media appearances, shakeout runs, strategy sessions with Coach Eyestone — and a final data-driven analysis from Stryd to fine-tune his preparation.
"Before race day I got an update from Stryd and we were able to analyze how my form had improved throughout the build after dealing with injuries, and how my body was responding to the lower mileage during taper week."
On race day, Clayton expertly navigated Boston’s challenging course and legendary hills to run a new personal best of 2:07:04. His performance earned him an impressive 7th place overall and the honor of being the second American across the finish line in one of the deepest fields the Boston Marathon has ever seen.
