New Feature Update | Start or Return to Power-Based Training With Stryd After Just One Run!

Getting started with Stryd just got faster and easier! We’re excited to introduce Single Run Critical Power (CP) Estimation, a game-changing feature that helps you establish your fitness baseline and power training zones after just one run.

Whether you’re new to Stryd or returning after a break, this feature ensures you can jump right into power-based training without delay. No more waiting, testing, or needing weeks of data—just one run, and you’re ready to start training.

Let’s dive into how this update will elevate your running. 


What Is Single Run CP Estimation?

Single Run CP Estimation is a guided workout that once completed instantly provides you with an Estimated Critical Power (CP). Critical Power is the key metric that personalizes your power-based training, helping you structure workouts and training plans at the right intensity.

This workout consists of easy and medium-effort intervals designed to gather data about your current fitness level. 

You will run a 5-minute warmup, 1 minute at a medium effort, 5 minutes easy, 1 minute at a medium effort, and a 5 minute cool down. Here's how it breaks down:

  • Easy Laps: Run at a comfortable, conversational pace, around 3-4 out of 10 in effort.
  • Medium Laps: Increase your effort to comfortably hard around 6-7 out of 10 in effort. This should feel like an effort you could sustain for 30+ minutes.

The workout can be performed as a standalone run or before another workout. The flexibility makes it suitable for any day that fits your schedule.


Who Should Use the Single Run CP Estimation?

This feature is perfect for runners:

  • New to Stryd: Find your CP easily—no complex testing needed.
  • Returning after a break: If you’ve taken time off and feel your fitness has changed, this tool helps you quickly recalibrate your CP to match your current level before jumping into structured training. 

With Single Run CP Estimation, you can always train with confidence, knowing your CP reflects your true ability.


Getting Started

New to Stryd or returning after a break from running? Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Stryd Mobile App.
  2. Tap “Get Started” at the top of the Summary tab.
  3. Schedule your CP estimation run.
  4. Complete the run and start a Stryd training plan.

Once done, your new CP is set, and you’re ready for structured training!
