Introducing the Stryd Performance Lab: Taking the Lab to the Road

At Stryd, we're constantly pushing the boundaries of running technology to help athletes of all levels achieve their best performance. Today, we're thrilled to announce the Stryd Performance Lab, a state-of-the-art testing center located at our headquarters in Boulder, Colorado.

This cutting-edge facility is designed with one primary goal: to empower the world's best runners to take the lab to the road with Stryd technology.

By combining these advanced testing methods with our industry-leading technology, we're able to provide unparalleled insights that translate directly to real-world performance gains.

Discover How Elite Triathletes Are Transforming Lab Data into Race Day Success

Stryd Performance Lab With Coach Ian O'Brien

To showcase the capabilities of our new facility, we recently hosted elite triathletes coached by Ian O'Brien for a series of metabolic and lactate tests. Coach O'Brien shared his thoughts on the value of this testing:

"What we're trying to achieve today is a few different things. We're trying to get threshold, velocity at threshold, and also we're trying to get some RER values which basically gives us an understanding of where the crossover point from aerobic to anaerobic is, which then gives me some feedback about how we can change training to get the very best out of my athletes."

This testing allows coaches like Ian to fine-tune their athletes' training, combining mechanical efficiency data from Stryd with cardiovascular insights to optimize performance, especially in multisport events like triathlons.

Precision Meets Preference: Shoe Testing with Elite Marathoner Luis Orta

Elite Marathoner Luis Orta Testing Shoes in the Stryd Performance Lab

In another exciting demonstration of the lab's capabilities, we welcomed Olympic Marathon runner Luis Orta for a comprehensive shoe testing session. Using our advanced footpath data analysis, Luis tested three different pairs of running shoes.

Our team analyzed key metrics such as Leg Spring Stiffness, Impact Loading Rate, and heel recovery patterns in Stryd Footpath to determine which shoe best suited Luis's running style for different race distances.

The results not only confirmed Luis's intuitive preferences but also provided data-driven insights to inform his shoe choices for various training and racing scenarios.
